Happy memories of growing up in Joplin and the four-state area are shared in the book “Slice of Life - Memories of Mother,” a collection of columns by Willa Younger. Along with each column are “Memories of Mother” by Alice Frank as she looks back through the eyes of the daughter and appreciates the wit and wisdom of her mother and reflects on a life well-lived. There are a few comfort food recipes sprinkled throughout the book that relate to either a column or memory.
People that were fans of Willa Younger’s syndicated columns will enjoy seeing them in print once again and new readers will appreciate the humor and inspiration that is still relevant today.
